US Airways is adding about 20 corporate sales people around the world as part of a "largely international but also an expanded effort domestically to sign up more corporate accounts," according to president Scott Kirby. "When [America West] first merged with US Airways, US Airways had hundreds of corporate accounts that were largely unmanaged, getting big discounts without measuring performance. We feel more comfortable now with analytical tools to sign corporate accounts and measure performance."

The court overseeing Frontier Airlines Holdings' bankruptcy accepted the company's reorganization plan. Frontier now expects to emerge from bankruptcy "on or about Oct. 1, 2009 as a wholly owned subsidiary of
Republic Airways Holdings, Inc.," which last month submitted the winning bid to acquire the Denver-based airline.

Frontier Airlines confirmed that Southwest Airlines Co. submitted a proposal to purchase the bankrupt company. An agreement by
Republic Airways Holdings to purchase Frontier was approved by the judge overseeing Frontier's Chapter 11 reorganization, but must withstand an auction period "during which Frontier may seek higher or otherwise better competing bids." All bids must be submitted by Aug. 3.

Republic Airways Holdings said it "is acquiring" Midwest Airlines from TPG Capital. After announcing plans to purchase
Frontier Airlines, Republic said it would maintain Midwest's brand and replace Midwest's Boeing 717 fleet with Embraer 190 aircraft.

Republic Airways Holdings agreed to "purchase 100 percent of the equity" in Frontier Airlines should Frontier complete a bankruptcy reorganization, according to a statement from the companies. Parent of Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, Republic would pay $108.75 million. Frontier filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April 2008 and expects to complete its reorganization in fall 2009.

acquisition of the National Car Rental brand. The team will report to David McNeill, who was named

Frontier Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection but plans to maintain normal operations. The bankruptcy followed a decision by the carrier's credit card processor "to start withholding significant proceeds received from the sale of Frontier tickets," according to CEO Sean Menke. "To be clear, we filed for very different reasons than those of other recent carriers." According to a research note from JP Morgan Securities analysts, "Given Frontier's sensitive liquidity position, we believe its processor was already withholding as much as 50 percent of sale proceeds until time of flight, and may have boosted that to 100 percent in recent weeks."
